How pricing works

Flat fees for defined services. Hourly rates for case work.

Office services have a set price because the task is defined: a background package, a notarization, a set of fingerprints, or a drug test. Investigations are different. The useful product is an investigator’s time, and the hours depend on the subject’s schedule, the distance, and how much is already known.

Rates below are standard starting prices. The final quote can change with case complexity, scope, location, and the investigative resources required. Most investigations begin with a retainer of $500–$2,500. That amount is applied toward billable services and expenses. It is agreed before fieldwork starts.

Retainer

$500–$2,500 up front on most investigations, based on scope. The retainer is drawn down as time and expenses are billed.

Reporting

Standard report preparation is included. Extensive additional report work is $85 per hour. Surveillance shifts include video and a written surveillance report.

Travel

Travel time is $85 per hour. Mileage is billed at the IRS rate. Tolls and parking are billed at cost.
